               Alice, how many horses can you see in the field?
Alice:     I can see...  twenty-two horses.
Teacher: Correct.
               Caleb, how many cars can you see in the picture?
Caleb:    I can see... five cars.
Teacher: Correct.
               Carl, how many tree can you see picture?
Carl:       Well... I can see... Two trees.
Teacher: Correct.
               And you Loren... how many birds can you see?
Loren:    I can see... four birds.

How much e How many

  “ Many ” significa “ muito ” e é utilizado para coisas contáveis .  O “ How many ” carrega essa mesma função, mas no papel de pergunta, de interrogação .  Portanto, quando quiser perguntar “quanto” de algo existe e esse algo puder ser contado em unidades, você deve usar o “how many”.    How many  fingers are there in a hand? ( Há quantos dedos em uma mão?) “ Much ” também significa “ muito ”, mas para as coisas incontáveis .  O mesmo se aplica para o “ how much ”, que é utilizado em perguntas sobre a quantidade daquilo que não está dividido por unidades ou outras formas de contagem.
